The hot-dip galvalume steel sheet is made by a kind of cold-rolled steel coil with different strength and thickness specifications as the base metal which is pre-coated by hot-plating for Al-Zn coatings on both sides and has a mass percentage of about 55% 43.5% zinc, 1.5% Si, combined with physical protection and integration of high durability and electrochemical protection features of Al and Zn to obtain the substrate metal’s strength and ductility but also corrosion resistance of the coating.It not only can protect the inner metal base from corrosion but also the surface was highly decorative bright silver gray and the regular spangle and has a bumpy sense. And this Aluzinc layers coating has very good corrosion resistance ability which offers it 2-6 times the life span versus galvanized steel coils. Developed from hot dipped zinc galvanized and hot-dipped aluminum galvanization tech, galvalume steel combines with excellent characteristics of both products, premium corrosion and oxidation resistance of hot dipped aluminum galvanization and exceptional electrochemical properties of hot dipped zinc coated galvanization, which gives galvalume steel strong anti-rust and anti-corrosion ability at the edge and on the scratched surface. The corrosion resistance property of the 55% aluminum zinc steel roll is from the aluminum layer barrier protection function and the sacrificial protection function of zinc layer. When the steel roll happens trimming, scratches and abrasions, the zinc will take the role of sacrificial coatings to protect the steel’s anti-corrosion, the aluminum will form an oxide insoluble protection barrier layer. Aluminum zinc alloy steel coil has been in a variety of different atmospheric environment, carried out more than 20 years of outdoor exposure test, it is confirmed that 55% galvanized steel roll trimming protection function is better than galvanized steel and 5% aluminum zinc steel.Main Advantage of Galvalume Steel

It also usually gets PVDF resin to get superior chalk resistance and gloss retention as well as stain and chemical resistance. The hot dipping process consists of passing the steel through a bath of molten zinc, while the electro-galvanizing process consists of the application of zinc through electrolytic disposition. The result is a layer of zinc tightly adhering to the base metal through an iron-zinc bonding layer. A zinc coating is one of the most effective and economical methods of protecting bare steel from a corroding environment. The zinc not only serves as a barrier between the steel and the environment, but it will also sacrifice itself to protect the underlying steel sheet. Sacrificial or galvanic protection occurs when two dissimilar metals are in contact and coupled with water and oxygen. Zinc corrodes preferentially to the iron in steel. This protection prevents corrosion of the steel at areas not covered with zinc. Thus, the spread of corrosion from cut edges, drill holes, etc. is minimized.

The prepainted steel sheet in coil is a product obtained by subjecting a hot-dipped galvanized steel sheet, an galvalume steel sheet, or an aluminum sheet to a surface chemical treatment (coating) , followed by baking and curing.
The total thickness of the pre-panted galvanized steel coil is composed of the base steel – coating -primer – top paint – protective layer thickness. The top paint thickness is 10-25μm, and the back paint thickness is 5-20μm. The thinner the base steel thickness, the higher the price of the ppgi steel coil, because the processing cost becomes higher.
Usually the paint coating material is polyester (PE) and the color of the back paint is white grey. The color can be customized according to the RAL color card or customer samples. Special patterns can be made, such as wood grain, flower print, camouflage, brick.

Pre Painted Galvanized Steel Coils ( PPGI Coils )
When hot-dip galvanized steel is painted, the duplex system provides a more sophisticated manner of corrosion protection. The galvanized coating protects the base steel by providing both cathodic and barrier protection. The paint coating acts as a barrier protection for the hot-dip galvanized coating and significantly reduces the corrosion rate of the zinc.
The increased lifetime that can be provided with a combination of paint over galvanized steel makes this type of corrosion protection system very attractive for structures designed to last a long time in aggressive atmospheres.
Pre Painted Alu-Zinc Steel Coils ( PPGL Coils )
Aluzinc is cold rolled galvanized steel with metal coating composed of Aluminum (55%), Zinc (43.4%) and Silicon (1.6%). It is formable, weldable and readily accepts paint finishes. Aluzinc coated steel has superior long-term corrosion resistance in most atmospheric conditions. This is achieved through the combination of the sacrificial protection of the zinc and the barrier protection of the aluminum.
Pre Painted Aluminium Coils (PPAL Coils)
Aluminium corrosion resistance is very good in untreated aluminium. Untreated aluminium has very good corrosion resistance in most environments. This is primarily because aluminium spontaneously forms a thin but effective oxide layer that prevents further oxidation.
Pre painted Aluminium combine the metal’s anti corrosive properties along with a layer of further paint protection giving the lightweight metal a longer lifespan and a vibrant look.
PPGI is pre-painted galvanised iron, also known as pre-coated steel, coil coated steel, color coated steel etc., typically with a hot dip zinc coated steel substrate.
The term is an extension of GI which is a traditional abbreviation for Galvanized Iron. Today the term GI typically refers to essentially pure zinc (>99%) continuously hot dip coated steel, as opposed to batch dip processes. PPGI refers to factory pre-painted zinc coated steel, where the steel is painted before forming, as opposed to post painting which occurs after forming.
The hot dip metallic coating process is also used to manufacture steel sheet and coil with coatings of aluminium, or alloy coatings of zinc/aluminium, zinc/iron and zinc/aluminium/magnesium which may also be factory pre-painted. While GI may sometimes be used as a collective term for various hot dip metallic coated steels, it more precisely refers only to zinc coated steel. Similarly, PPGI may sometimes be used as a general term for a range of metallic coated steels that have been pre-painted, but more often refers more precisely to pre-painted zinc coated steel.
Zinc coated steel substrate for PPGI is typically produced on a continuous galvanizing line (CGL). The CGL may include a painting section after the hot dip galvanising section, or more commonly the metallic coated substrate in coil form is processed on a separate continuous paint line (CPL). Metallic coated steel is cleaned, pre-treated, applied with various layers of organic coatings which can be paints, vinyl dispersions, or laminates. The continuous process used to apply these coatings is often referred to as Coil Coating.
The steel thus produced in this process is a prepainted, prefinished and ready for further processing into finished products or components. to use material.
The coil coating process may be used for other substrates such as aluminium, or aluminium, stainless steel or alloy coated steel other than “pure” zinc coated steel.
